I Joined EPCC in August 2002 as a Computer Support Officer. Before starting work at EPCC I did a course in Embedded Software. I graduated from Edinburgh University with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in July 2000 and a PG Dip in System Level Integration from Edinburgh University in December 2002.
My main project between 2004-2010 was Systems administration for the QCDOC Project (p5) along with Systems administration for other HPC and Super computers systems which we supported at EPCC.
Projects which I have worked on before joining EPCC:
- Embedded Software project at the Institute for System Level Integration
Built and programmed a simple warehouse robot with a user interface to follow a track and stop at different bays to collect items using a menu system. - Hardware project at Renishaw Plc, Heriot Watt Research Park
Reverse Engineered a Non-Contact Capacitance Probe, then designed and built a new model. Tested and verified it worked. - Software project for Motorola at the Institute for System Level Integration
Redesigned an Intellectual Property (IP) module from Verilog to SystemC.
I enjoy travelling and playing Basketball.
