Intel Parallel Computing Center collaboration with Colfax

We're just kicking off a week's collaboration with Colfax, a US technology company that collaborates heavily with Intel on Xeon Phi optimisation and training for the Xeon Phi. 

Agony and ExTASY

Over 18 months ago, we kicked off the ExTASY project. Our lofty aim was to tackle one of the 'Grand Challenges' of biochemistry - effective sampling of complex biomolecules using Molecular Dynamics to provide a physical understanding of their function and behaviour.

The MPI 3.1 standard, a minor update to the existing MPI 3.0 Standard, was ratified last week at the latest MPI Forum meeting

The Mozilla Lab Global Science Sprint 2015

I had not intended to go to the Mozilla Global Science Sprint 2015. However, EPCC acted as a hub for local developers who wanted to participate and Neil Chue Hong (Director of the Software Sustainability Institute, and based here at EPCC) asked me to set up the room and make the initial connection in case he was unavailable. I managed to set up the servers and then stayed.

So what is the Mozilla Global Science Sprint?
