ARCHER Embedded Computational Science and Engineering projects

Since the start of the ARCHER UK National Supercomputing Service service, one hundred eCSE (embedded Computational Science and Engineering) projects have been awarded funding to carry out code improvements for software running on ARCHER and future Tier-1 services. Projects have come from a diverse range of disciplines with principal investigators (PIs), Co-Investigators (Co-Is) and technical staff involved from 44 different institutions across the UK.

Widening access to HPC for Europe’s SMEs

The SHAPE programme, led by EPCC, has helped over 40 companies across Europe to get a foot on the HPC ladder, with benefits including reduced costs and faster time to market.

SHAPE was set up to raise awareness of high-performance computing (HPC) among European SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and to provide them with the expertise required to take advantage of the innovation possibilities created by HPC. The ultimate aim of the programme is to increase the competitiveness of SMEs in Europe.

ARCHER eCSE programme

The ARCHER embedded Computational Science & Engineering programme (eCSE) provides funding for researchers across the UK to work on the development of software running on ARCHER. This can include improving the performance or usability of the software, inserting new functionality, or efforts to improve its long-term sustainability.  

Access to HPC for scientists: DECI-11 Call extended
