In this talk, we will describe how the strong partnership initiated in 2006 between the Irish Weather Forecasting agency Met Éireann (www.met.ie), and the Irish National HPC Centre, ICHEC (www.ichec.ie) has led to significant advances in weather forecasting and climate modeling in Ireland. First, the different components of the Irish operational forecast will be presented, followed by a discussion of their deployment in the ICHEC infrastructure, and their recent migration to ICHEC’s new production system with the challenges this represented.

The remainder of the talk will provide an overview of Climate Modelling activities in Ireland, and conclude with a brief history of ICHEC (note to MSc students: we are currently recruiting!)
