Come and say hello at ISC-HPC 2016

07 June 2016

We're delighted to announce that EPCC will attend ISC-HPC, the International Supercomputing Conference, in Frankfurt am Main this year.

This is an excellent opportunity to show the variety of work we undertake, and in particular we will focus on these aspects:

Exascale projects

EPCC has leading and varied roles in a number of projects dedicated to reaching the Exascale goal, including NEXTGenIO [1], INTERTWinE [2], Adept [3], and ExaFLOW [4]. These projects are all tackling Exascale challenges in different ways and we look forward to discussing them.

Centres of Excellence

The Centre of Excellence initiative consists of eight linked projects delivering computing excellence across different HPC sectors such as climate and weather, materials design, and molecular research. EPCC is a partner in the BioExcel Centre of Excellence [5], delivering training and support to HPC users in the biomolecular science arena. EPCC is also involved with CompBioMed.

Supporting industry

We are a leading partner and HPC provider in the Fortissimo project [6], a pan-European initiative to improve the competitiveness of SMEs by working with them to provide affordable access to HPC.

EPCC is also the founder of the Women in HPC network [7], which is hosting a number of events during ISC-HPC. Finally, we will also bring along Wee Archie [8], our Raspberry Pi-based mini supercomputer, and will talk about how such clusters can support education and outreach.

EPCC speakers

Our colleagues will be taking part in several sessions:
