Project: OGSA-DAI
OGSA-DAI is developing a framework for the access, management and integration of distributed, heterogeneous data resources. It is fully-customisable allowing it to be tailored for the data access, translation, integration, management and security requirements of specific communities, projects and businesses.
Since 2002, OGSA-DAI has been successfully used to devise novel data management solutions in areas as disparate as geographical information systems, meteorology, transport, computer-aided design and engineering, astronomy and medical research. OGSA-DAI has a large user base in the UK and Europe as well as further afield in counties as diverse as the US, China, Japan and Russia. OGSA-DAI works closely with EPCC’s ADMIRE and BEinGRID teams.
The project was conceived by the UK Database Task Force and is currently a partner in OMII-UK with the University of Southampton and the University of Manchester. OMII-UK aims to provide software and support to enable a sustained future for the UK e-Science community and its international collaborators.
OGSA-DAI is a member of the Globus Alliance and works closely with the Open Grid Forum DAIS-WG.
