This machine has over 12,000 processors providing more than 10 Tflops of performance.

It is currently one of the world’s most powerful systems dedicated to the numerical investigation of Quantum Chromodynamics, which describes the interactions between quarks and gluons.

This special-purpose computer has been developed in collaboration with a consortium of UK lattice physicists (UKQCD), Columbia University (NY), Brookhaven National Laboratory and IBM.
