HPC software funding and support is available through the HECToR service, with up to 4 person years of effort per project. (Full details are available at here).
This funding is aimed at either improving existing applications on HECToR or enabling codes for use on HECToR. EPSRC, BBSRC, and NERC supported researchers are eligible.
EPCC is available for collaboration in proposal generation and providing technical effort and expertise to perform the project work.
We currently have several ongoing projects. Here is a list of our completed projects:
- Improving the scalability of CP2K on multi-core systems (Materials Chemistry)
- Upgrading the FFTs in GS2 (Fusion)
- Scaling the EBL Turbulence Application to Thousands of Cores (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
- Porting OpenFOAM to HECToR (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
- NEMO on HECToR (Ocean Modelling)
- CP2K (Materials Chemistry)
We also manage the HECToR system.
