		<description><![CDATA[DEISA Extreme Computing Initiative Awards 2009 on AlphaGalileo
Forty two scientific projects have recently been awarded supercomputing resources through DEISA, the EU&#8217;s unique infrastructure of supercomputing systems. The awards, totalling more than 49 million processor hours, collectively comprise the largest amount of supercomputing resources ever allocated at a pan-European project call.

		<description><![CDATA[The OGSA-DAI project team have released OGSA-DAI WS-DAIX 1.0. OGSA-DAI WS-DAIX provides an implementation of the OGF DAIS Working Group WS-DAIX specifications. 		<description><![CDATA[A chip with 80 processing cores and capable of more than a trillion calculations per second (teraflops) has been unveiled by Intel.
&#8230;Dr Mark Bull, at the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre, said multi-core chips were forcing a sea-change in the programming of desktop applications.
