Features

OGSA-DAI is fully extensible. It was originally developed by EPCC, NeSC, IBM UK and Oracle under the UK e-Science Programme and has gone on to become a fully community driven and developed product hosted at the Source Forge site.

Currently OGSA-DAI supports a powerful distributed query processor that allows queries to be run over a federation of OGSA-DAI service. The product has been in active development since 2002 and has been used in a number of projects.

Supports many common databases and can easily be extended to support other types of data sources.

Extensible workflow framework for handling data close to the data sources.

Supports third party delivery via a number of different protocols.

Streaming framework so that large data sets can be handled.

Can be incorporated into a number of existing middleware fabrics such as those provided by Globus or used as a stand-alone component.

Supports distributed query processing over a number of relational databases exposed via OGSA-DAI services.

We are constantly looking for funded means of taking the product forward or customising for particular communities. If you are interested please email info@ogsadai.org.uk.
