There are existing modules that enable R users to exploit high performance computing but they are either difficult for HPC novices or cannot be used to solve certain classes of problem.
SPRINT allows R users access to high performance computing without the need to master parallel programming methods, enabling the easy exploitation of HPC systems.
SPRINT is being developed by EPCC in collaboration with the Division of Pathway Medicine from the University of Edinburgh.
Features
HPC-enabled access to key permutation, correlation and clustering functions for dramatically quicker results.
Functions are accessed through their existing, familiar R interface
Previously intractable data volumes can now be processed.
Status
Actively developed. For latest details see: www.r-sprint.org
