Dr Larisa Stoltzfus
I joined EPCC officially in January 2021 as an Applications Consultant, having worked as a lab assistant for the MSc since 2015. I have a BA in Physics from Grinnell College and two Masters in HPC and parallelism from the University of Edinburgh. I also have a PhD in Informatics, where my research focused on bridging the gap between compilers and HPC through automatic code generation for room acoustics simulations.
Previously I worked in industry as a software and HPC engineer in the fields of biotechnology, geological sciences, and finance. In my spare time I enjoy hillwalking, rock climbing, cycling, and playing Scrabble, as well as the piano.
