BioExcel is a newly launched Centre of Excellence that helps academic and industrial researchers to use high-performance computing and high-throughput computing in biomolecular research. 

We are running a number of events in September and October and I would be very grateful to anybody who circulates these to people or groups that may be interested (and bonus points if you are willing to share with me details of where/to whom you publicise so that we can reduce cross-posting).

Our flexible, online courses are designed to fit around your other commitments. Students are given access to the computing facilities of the ARCHER system, the UK national supercomputer service.

I was among those presenting at EPCC's recent Big Data seminars at Edinburgh BioQuarter and BioDundee. Both events provided a good opportunity for me to talk to people about their Big Data problems and their views on what Big Data means to them.

ISC is Europe’s biggest supercomputing conference, and EPCC has been represented at the event for a number of years now. More recently, as the interest in Big Data has grown, ISC has launched a new conference - ISC Big Data - which is specifically focussed on this new field.
