During August and September we ran a series of seminar events across Scotland, in collaboration with three major actors in the Scottish life science sector: BioCity, BioQuarter and BioDundee.

If you weren’t lucky enough to come to one of our seminars (and the complementary lunch) on the application of HPC and Big Data in life sciences then you might want to catch up by reading the associated case study.

EPCC will be exhibiting at this year’s Supercomputing in Engineering Show at the Derby Roundhouse on the 15th and 16th April. The show is run in parallel with the Engineering Simulation Show and attendance is free, so this is an ideal opportunity for you to come and talk to us about how we can help transform your simulation and modeling activities using High Performance Computing.

A joint effort between MathWorks and EPCC has successfully demonstrated cloud-like access to MathWork’s modelling suite on INDY, EPCC's HPC cluster targeted at industrial users. Users can now readily scale-up their computationally intensive MATLAB® programs and Simulink® models. The complete MathWork’s software suite, including  MATLAB®, Parallel Computing Toolbox™(MPCT) and Distributed Compute Server™(MDCS) has been installed.

This year’s facilities sharing event, Get Your Kit Out Too, takes place on June 11 and with the usual funding for equipment severely squeezed, why not come and see what's on your doorstep, and how it can work for you? There will be talks, exhibitions and networking to help you discover the kit and facilities available at the College of Science and Engineering and find out how you can access them. Building on last year's successful and informative day, this year's event will also feature facilities from outwith the College, including those at Heriot-Watt and St Andrews universities.
