Software Sustainability Institute
The Software Sustainability Institute works to make it easier to rely on software as a foundation of research.
The Software Sustainability Institute helps people learn the skills needed to build better software, and ensure get credit and encouragement are given for developing sustainable software. Working with researchers, developers, funders and infrastructure providers, the Institute aims to identify the key issues and best practices surrounding scientific software.
The Institute provides a number of training-related services to allow researchers to develop their software-development skills and knowledge. As a founding member, EPCC collaborates extensively with the Institute in developing and delivering training. For example, the Institute's highly successful "Software Carpentry Boot Camps" are now a regular feature of EPCC's PATC course curriculum.
