EPCC has worked with partners across Europe to put in place the EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure (CDI), a connected infrastructure of data and storage service providers. The EUDAT CDI is an ongoing collaboration between service providers and research communities working as part of a common framework for developing and operating an interoperable layer of data services. This common framework is termed the EUDAT Service Suite. EUDAT has a strong focus on services for complex research data management delivered through close collaboration with customers and partners. EUDAT pitches itself strongly at the value-added level: our proposition is that the human expertise in the CDI network adds much more value to customers than simple access to underlying storage such as can be bought from commercial cloud storage providers.
