NEXT NATIONAL SUPERCOMPUTING SERVICE
The Next National Supercomputing Service (NNSS) is the upcoming major new UK supercomputing system that will succeed the UK’s current national supercomputing system ARCHER2. The NNSS will be hosted and operated by EPCC.
Key Details of the NNSS and EPCC Partnership
- Funding: Backed by up to £750 million in UK Government investment covering infrastructure, power, hardware, and operational staff.
- Location: Housed at EPCC’s secure Advanced Computing Facility (ACF) just outside of Edinburgh.
- Purpose: Deliver world-class high-performance computing and AI capability for academic and industrial research.
- Legacy: Continues EPCC’s extensive history of managing leading national high-performance computing systems for the UK.
