Applications Developer

We are seeking graduates and engineers to work as Applications Developers on project-oriented research in high performance computing, around software development, performance optimisation and cross-cutting research. Experience developing numerical applications using C/C++ or Fortran is required, and knowledge of parallel computing is highly desirable. 

Full-time hybrid working and 2 years fixed-term.

Data Architect

We are seeking a Data Architect to work as technical lead in maximising the capabilities of the Edinburgh International Data Facility (our AI and data science infrastructure) to ensure the provision aligns with the requirements of our high profile academic, public sector and commercial stakeholders. Events Manager - Software Sustainability Institute

The position is based at the Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) and will require the post holder to manage and chair the SSI's two main events, as well as provide event organisation support and advice for other smaller events. This is a wonderful opportunity to join the SSI team when we are expanding our reach and implementing innovative event management practices. The post holder will be expected to bring dedicated events experience to the role and will join the SSI team at an exciting time.

About the SSI

The Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) facilitates the advancement of software in research by cultivating better, more sustainable, research software to enable world-class research (“Better software, better research”). 

Based at the Universities of Edinburgh (EPCC), Manchester, Oxford and Southampton, the SSI draws on a team of experts with a breadth of experience in software development, project and programme management, research facilitation, publicity and community engagement.
