ARCHER2 Celebration of Science

This two-day event will take place from 7–8 March, 2024 at South Hall, The University of Edinburgh. Deadline for registrations is 29 February 2024.

In addition to the focus on research outputs, the event will also provide opportunities for attendees to share ideas and connect with others to further communication and collaborations within the ARCHER2 community. 

We hope to meet many of the ARCHER2 community at this event! 

Event programme

Keynote and panel session on Exascale

EPCC Director Prof. Mark Parsons will present the Exascale keynote, followed by the panel session “Ensuring Exascale Benefits UK Research”. Both will focus on preparing the UK science community for future Exascale systems.

Invited talks

A variety of talks will be given by members of the ARCHER2 research consortia and other invited presenters. Speakers will demonstrate key pieces of work and highlight key achievements on ARCHER2 by their consortia and projects.

Lightning talks and poster session

All poster presenters will showcase their science outcomes and the impact achieved on ARCHER2 by giving lightning talks. They will then further demonstrate and discuss their work with other event attendees during the dedicated poster session and drink reception on the evening of Day One (7 March). A prize of £200 will be awarded to the Best Poster.

User group session

A hybrid session that all ARCHER2 users are welcome to join in person or online for discussion and/or raising questions with the ARCHER2 team.

Women in HPC satellite event

A WHPC satellite event, Diversity in Science, will take place from 14:00 to 16:00 on Day Two (8 March) at the end of the ARCHER2 Celebration of Science. This is also free to attend. All event attendees are welcome to join both events or just one.
