ARCHER2 Celebration of Science 2025 review
27 May 2025
We were very pleased to welcome over a hundred attendees to Edinburgh this month for this year's ARCHER2 Celebration of Science.

It was a pleasure to have all the invited speakers join us to give a variety of interesting talks over the two-day event, highlighting their scientific research and the impactful outcomes enabled by ARCHER2.
We ran the well-received poster programme again this year, with 38 high quality submissions. Each poster presenter demonstrated their work on ARCHER2 during the lightning talk sessions and the dedicated poster session on Day 1 of the event.
We would like to once again congratulate our well-deserved Best Poster Winner, Laura Bevis from Queen Mary University of London! See pic below. You can view Laura’s poster here:

The Women in HPC (WHPC) session on the afternoon of Day 1 encouraged all attendees to actively engage in brainstorming ideas and strategies for addressing some key challenges related to HPC service delivery.

Day 2 began with the ARCHER2 User Forum, which included a series of brief talks on recent updates and forthcoming plans for the ARCHER2 service followed by discussions.
EPCC's Director Professor Mark Parsons presented the keynote on Day 2, reviewing the current state of supercomputing and looking ahead to the potential next generation of systems in the UK. This was followed by an inspiring panel session focusing on how to ensure key UK software is maintained and developed to meet the needs of the UK research community.

We would like to thank everyone for joining us at the ARCHER2 Celebration of Science 2025. It was fantastic to see so many of you here, and we hope you enjoyed the event. We look forward to hosting similar events and seeing you again in the future!
