ExCALIBUR FPGA testbed

ExCALIBUR is a £45.7m programme to address the challenges and opportunities offered by computing at the exascale (high performance computing at 1018 floating point operations per second). The programme will address problems of strategic importance, and how to approach them in an efficient, effective, and productive fashion on the world’s largest computers.

Quantum Computing at EPCC

EPCC is investigating quantum computing, in collaboration with quantum informatics at University of Edinburgh, and Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow.

Cerebras

The world’s fastest AI computer, the Cerebras CS-1, has been installed at EPCC's Advanced Computer Facility. The Cerebras CS-1 will be available in the Edinburgh International Data Facility (EIDF) for academic researchers and data scientists in the public and private sectors.

NextGenIO

The NextGenIO project, led by EPCC, designed and developed a 34-node prototype system with Intel’s new DCPMM technology. Housed at EPCC’s Advanced Computing Facility, the performance we see from this prototype is extremely impressive.
