deRSE25

25 February 2025 - 27 February 2025

The Fifth Conference for Research Software Engineering in Germany will be held at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, Campus South, Karlsruhe, Germany.

As a venue for the diverse community of people concerned with research software, deRSE25 values contributions from all levels of experience and across scientific disciplines, geographic locations, genders, and ethnicities. The conference aims for a well-balanced programme that includes a wide variety of perspectives to reflect the diversity of the research software engineering (RSE) community and its activities, emphasising that software can be a language that furthers communication across the established domain boundaries.

On 26 Feb at 2pm, EPCC's Neil Chue Hong will speak at the session "Bringing together software engineering researchers and research software engineers". This Birds Of A Feather session is designed to:

  • Increase mutual awareness of what software engineering researchers and research software engineers do
  • Identify topics of interest to both communities
  • Connect software engineering researchers to research software engineers to help build collaborations.

This BoF is part of the Software Engineering for Science series of events.

EPCC PhD student Felicity Anderson will also present her poster "Who Do You Think You Are? Identifying Research Software Engineering Personas From Developer/Repository Interaction Data".
