Edinburgh Science Festival 2024: The Power of Programming workshop

Look out for our workshop "The Power of Programming", which will offer lots of activities related to supercomputing.
The Edinburgh Science Festival will run from Saturday 30 March–Sunday 14 April with the theme Shaping the Future. Celebrating the power and potential that human creativity, collaboration, innovation and play have to change our world for the better, the 2024 Festival will explore the roles of science, technology and their creative cousins in tackling the challenges and seizing the opportunities that our ever-changing world presents.
The Power of Programming
Come to EPCC's hands-on The Power of Programming workshop on April 4 to:
- Learn how computers work together to solve problems.
- Learn how to program a micro:bit to send and receive messages and simulate how infections are spread.
- Work together to see how vaccines and medical cures can be used to slow or stop the spread of infections.
- See how the UK’s national supercomputer ARCHER2 was used to fight the spread of COVID–19.
Find us in Learning Studio 2 (Level 4), National Museum of Scotland.
Running times: 11am, 2pm & 3.30pm (one hour each).
