EPCC consultancy
We offer a flexible approach to supporting growth and development.
With over 100 expert software developers employed on open-ended contracts, EPCC operates far more flexibly than standard university departments. Our skilled staff can be assigned to projects (or parts of projects) at short notice, and we can collaborate in many different ways, for example acting as a contractor, as the university partner in a grant application, or as a joint PhD supervisor.
We work with people across academia, industry and government. Some of our larger consultancy partnerships include:
- Working with Rolls-Royce for more than 20 years to develop next-generation models of gas turbine engines for aircraft.
- A 25-year collaboration with the UK Met Office to parallelise and continually improve its forecasting models.
- Hosting the National Safe Haven on behalf of NHS Scotland. This collection of petabytes of anonymised non-consented data generated by NHS Scotland appointments and scans must, by law, be made available to researchers in a way that prevents the data from ever being extracted.
